My conversations with you have been most encouraging, leading me to believe that someone in position of authority was at last taking notice of the problem I have encountered, and that it can be resolved amicably. Your email confirms this impression.

What you have outlined is something that has long been badly needed. I very much applaud your efforts. Your email provides great confidence that you and other members of the Cornell University staff will put together a fair and equitable arrangement for the arxiv's use, one whose policies I certainly will be able to support and abide by.
